mother and daughter homeschooling

Rather than providing information about how to homeschool, The Utah Homeschooler magazine showcases those who do. Each issue provides new opportunities for homeschoolers across the state to celebrate and be inspired by what other homeschoolers are doing.

Parents can see how other families make homeschool work for them and be encouraged by their stories and advice. Students can be recognized and celebrated for their hard work and progress, be inspired by the projects and accomplishments of their peers, and stretch their writing skills by participating in the writing contests that are a part of every issue.

The Utah Homeschooler magazine is divided into three sections:

Family Focus

Get to know real homeschooling families and read success stories of soon-to-be or recent homeschool graduates.

Student Submissions

Be inspired by the amazing projects and accomplishments of homeschooling students. Includes Student Spotlights, Big Wins, book reviews, and writing contest winners.

How will The Utah Homeschooler magazine help your homeschool?

INSPIRATION: Your students will get to see an abundance of amazing submissions from their peers and read award-winning writing in each issue. They'll discover new subjects to study, projects to try, and books to read.

COMMUNITY: Connect with other homeschooling parents and students through their stories and submissions. Enjoy the harmony and variety of the Utah homeschool communmity.

LEGITIMIZE: If you know (or are related to) someone who doesn't think homeschooling is a good idea, you can show them this magazine. Each issue provides a convincing display from dozens of families about how powerful and effective homeschooling can be.

MOTIVATION: The opportunity to be published in a magazine, the chance to win cash and prizes, and the prospect of being "famous" can help to motivate students to push themselves and do their very best work.
